CELORON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The artist behind the newest Lucille Ball statue in Celoron is coming to Western New York to fix, "Lovely Lucy."

Carolyn Palmer says she heard about the vandalism to both 'Lucy' statues on social media. Now she just wants to get Lucy back to her old self again.

"I'm going to go up there in two weeks, and I'm going to bring my little toolbox of materials to take off the graffiti," Palmer said. "I'll get her right back to normal."

Repairing Lucy is weather-dependent; Palmer tells us it has to be warmer than 60 degrees out to make the repairs, and it should take about six or seven hours to complete.

But some work has already been done.

The mayor of Celoron says some artists came over and removed a bit of the blue paint that the alleged vandal used.

The man accused of vandalizing the "Lovely Lucy" statue and another nearby statue is facing a felony charge. You can read about the initial vandalism to the Lucy statues here.
