BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the second time in the last three seasons the Bills are heading to the playoffs. Regardless of Sunday’s outcome, the Bills will be the No. 5 seed and visit the No. 4 seed next weekend. But does our sports team think the Bills will end the regular season with a win?

Matt Bove:

You can chalk up Week 17 as a win for the Bills if none of their starters get hurt. If it were up to me, almost every significant starter would get a break this week. Instead, it appears the Bills will have some of starters play at the very least a few possessions.

All week, Sean McDermott has said he feels like that’s what is right for his team. Perhaps he’s right, or maybe he’s just bluffing. I just feel the risk outweighs the reward.

As far as the Jets are concerned, this game is a chance to try avenge their Week 1 loss to the Bills. With most of their starters expected to play and most of the Bills main contributors likely playing just a few series’, I’ll give the edge to the Jets — not that it really matters.

The Bills are already in the playoffs and their seeding is set which means this Sunday's game isn't super important. But no team ever wants to lose their final regular season game, no matter who plays, and with the chance to get to 11 wins for the first time since 1999, this team still has work to do.

We know Josh Allen and some of the other starters will see some playing time but I can't imagine they'll play more than a half. That means we'll see Matt Barkley making his second appearance in a game this season and guys like Duke Williams being "let out of his cage."

I enjoy games like this because it does give a guy like Williams the chance to show the coaching staff what he's got after being inactive for a few weeks. This should be a fun one, not just because of the players on the field, but because the team is in the position they are... not having to battle for a playoff spot in the final week of the regular season. Enjoy this one Bills fans.

They began the season with a win over the New York Jets and I think they'll end with one.

Adam Unger:

A win or a loss doesn’t matter for the Bills, but I think they’ll win this one anyway. They frankly don’t even need their best players to do it.

Earlier this week Sean McDermott confirmed that Josh Allen will play— it really should just be a short tune-up for him. The requirement of dressing 46 players doesn’t allow the team to run as deep as a preseason game, but Sunday’s contest should be treated similarly, with key starters sitting by halftime.

Aside from getting out of the game healthy, the on-field keys for Buffalo are the secondary containing WR Jamison Crowder and the offense staying aware of where safety Jamal Adams is at all times.

As far as the other games that could impact the Bills— I think they’ll be heading to Houston. I don’t see the Chargers knocking off the Chiefs, and the Titans have a lot to play for as they fight to be the sixth seed.
