Using the power of performance to end bullying

The 6th annual Band Against Bullying was held at the UB Center for the Arts Wednesday as they raise awareness towards bullying prevention. 

"We as young people are trying to incite positive change to something that impacts us daily" Williamsville East Senior Adam Kluge said. 

The evening featured eight different schools performing for a panel of judges. Each performance was related to bullying and the impacts. 

"Every time the message is sent is one more time we might reach somebody to make them aware of their actions" Lancaster Principal Cesar Marchioli said. 

Williamsville East "won" this years contest, but everyone was clear - it was not about competing. 

"Regardless of a trophy or a title, what we're trying to do is incite change that would invite change that will affect the larger scale of people who are seeing this" Kluge said.
