FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Village of Fredonia has made the cut. It has advanced as a top five finalist to be the subject of season five of "Small Business Revolution. "

Hosts Amanda Brinkman and Ty Pennington broke the news Tuesday morning via livestream from New York City. Neighbors and business leaders in Fredonia gathered inside the opera house to watch. They cheered in unison upon learning the news

"It's great they're going to be investing money in the community , but the lasting impact is going to occur with the change that's gonna happen with these businesses," said Todd Tranum, President and CEO of hte Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce.

"Small Business Revolution," which you can watch on Hulu or Amazon Prime, is a reality show. Each season centers around one community. The show pumps $500,000 into various small businesses in that community, helping revitalize them. Businesses in the winning community also receive assistance from Deluxe Corporation, a small business financial services company founded 105 years ago.

"We feel like we can not only change the trajectory of that town and help the community thrive, but we also feel like we can inspire other people to understand the importance of supporting their small businesses," said Brinkman.

Now it's up to Western New Yorkers to bump Fredonia into the top spot and ensure the show comes to town. A week-long voting period is now underway. Click here to vote. You can do so once a day on every device you can access from January 14 through January 21.
