The Erie County DA announced this morning that a jury has found 27-year-old Jorge Suarez guilty of 2nd-degree murder and 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Suarez faced charges in the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Freddie Dizon at the Anchor Bar on Main Street back in May of 2016. Dizon, an employee of the restaurant, was shot in the kitchen while working.
Dizon and Suarez grew up on Buffalo's west side together, according to authorities. Suarez was arraigned twice on this particular incident.
In February of 2017, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He could face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. Suarez will face sentencing on December 21 at 2:00 p.m.
