The I-190 near the Peace Bridge in Buffalo is about to have a new look. A new pedestrian that will span the interstate will be installed this weekend.

In an update on a previous "What's going on with..." story, the NYS Department of Transportation tells 7 Eyewitness News Anchor Jeff Russo that crews will install the new bridge sometime between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Sunday. The bridge is currently being assembled and a large crane will be used to set it into place. There will be some lane closures on the I-190 during installation this weekend.

The new bridge will cross both the CSX tracks and the I-190 and will take pedestrians to a new overlook near the Peace Bridge before extending to the shoreline trail. The new bridge and overlook are expected to be open for use in spring of 2016.
