Lake effect for Saturday
Posted at
and last updated

A Lake Effect Snow Warning has been issued until Sunday morning for Southern Erie, and Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus Counties.

As with all lake effect snow, conditions over a few miles can change rapidly, a small jog to the north will cause the Metro area and northtowns to receive several more inches of snow. It's one your 7 First Alert Weather Team will stay on top of as this event unfolds.

Lake effect will cause varying conditions in a short distance. Be prepared for low visibility with drifting and blowing snow as gusts reach 35mph. Travel will be very difficult within intense lake effect, don't be caught off guard and check 7 Super Doppler before traveling.

HOUR BY HOUR: What to Expect

Through-5AM
Lake effect continues for the warned area with poor driving conditions in the most persistent snows. Not as bad as last night or earlier today.
