BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — We're starting the week with high temperatures in the low 70s!

The normal high on June 15th is 75 degrees.

Today will be the only day with high temperatures below normal this week.

An area of high pressure will build across the eastern United States and this high will not be moving anytime soon.

We call this area of high pressure a "Rex Block."

This is a blocking pattern where there is an upper level high pressure system located directly north of a closed low.

Once this pattern is established it tends to linger for several days or longer.

Expect temperatures to warm into the mid 80s by the end of the week.

Summer begins on Saturday, June 20th and we'll see temperatures in the mid 80s to start off the new season.
