It's been a soggy day across WNY with the Buffalo Airport receiving .87" of rain. It's been a gloomy day as well for downtown Buffalo and areas along the water as fog continues to seep onshore from lake Erie and even from the rain soaked ground. Today is the sixth day this month we've had fog at the Buffalo airport!

More fog into Wednesday morning on the way but the rain will come to an end.  After nearly an inch of rain Tuesday our average rainfall total for the month so far (2.37") was surpassed . Yesterday we were about a half an inch below normal for the month at 1.8". Today's rainfall brought the monthly total to 2.67", .2" above normal but we didn't get near the record set in 1982 of 1.76". The entire month of May averages 3.46" with nine days left to go and spotty thunderstorms through the holiday weekend, it looks like we may end close to normal if some of the cells end up passing by the Buffalo Airport.
