BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A cold front and an area of low pressure will bring rain and snow to the area early Thursday. Lower elevations will experience rain Thursday morning and higher elevations will see some light accumulations on grassy surfaces.

Thursday afternoon, colder air will change the rain and snow mix to all snow. Accumulations will vary across the area with 1-2" possible in Buffalo and the northern suburbs. South of Buffalo, the snow totals will increase with 1-3" in the southtowns by Thursday evening, and 2-4"+ possible over the Southern Tier.

Snow showers likely with temperatures in the low 30s, a general 1".

5pm THURSDAY
Snow showers continue with minor accumulations. Snow will begin to stick on the roads slowing down the evening commute.

9pm THURSDAY
Lake effect snow impacting areas south of Buffalo.
