Flood Watch in place for much of WNY starting Saturday afternoon

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Make sure your sump pump is working.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Niagara, Erie, Orleans, Genesee, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming County starting Saturday afternoon.

Soaking rain will move into the area Saturday. Between one and two inches of rain is predicted to fall in portions of Western New York during a short period. Flooding in urban areas and low lying areas is possible through Sunday afternoon.
