The UB football team is off to a 1-0 start thanks in large part to their air game.

QB Tyree Jackson threw for six touchdown passes in a 48-10 win over Delaware State. Jackson finished 17-of-27 for 189 yards and became the first QB in school history to throw for five touchdowns in the first half.

The Bulls built a 34-3 lead at the half after a great performance by both sides of the ball. The Bulls got the scoring started when Jackson found newcomer George Rushing for the 9-yard score and an early 7-0 lead. They added two more touchdown passes in the first quarter, one to Anthony Johnson and another to KJ Osborn. Devon Russell added an interception, Chuck Harris recorded a strip sack and Kadofi Wright recovered a fumble in the first half on defense.

Rushing and Osborn both finished with two touchdowns in the win while freshman Jaret Patterson had his first collegiate rushing touchdown. Charlie Jones also caught his first collegiate touchdown in the second half to put UB up 41-3.

The Bulls held Delaware State to just 76 passing yards.

Next up for the Bulls is Temple on Saturday, September 8th. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
