UB drops second game of the year, falls to NIU 77-75

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For only the second time this year the No. 14 UB Bulls came up short, falling to Northern Illinois 77-75 thanks to a buzzer-beater from Huskies forward Noah McCarty.

Senior guard Dante Thorpe led the way for Northern Illinois with 23 points while CJ Massinburg had 23 of his own, including a three-pointer with six seconds left to briefly tie things up.

With the loss, the Bulls slip to 17-2 on the season and 5-1 in the MAC. UB travels to Kent State for a matchup with the Golden Flashes on Friday night.
