Late push not enough as UB women fall in Round of 32 to UConn 84-72

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Despite a late push, UB's second consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament has come to an end. On Sunday the No. 10 UB women's basketball team fell in the Round of 32 to No. 2 ranked UConn 84-72.

Cierra Dillard led the way for the Bulls with a game-high 29 points. Senior Autumn Jones added 14 points while Buffalo native Summer Hemphill had nine.

For the Huskies, Napheesa Collier finished with 27 points.

The loss marks the last game for seniors Cierra Dillard, Brittany Morrison, Ayoleka Sodade, Courtney Wilkins and Autumn Jones.

UB finishes their historic season with a 24-10 record along with a MAC championship.

On Instagram, the university saluted both the men and the women for their effort and regular-season performances.
