'Mr. Irrelavent' has reportedly signed his first NFL contract.
According to Mike Klis of KUSA-TV in Denver, Chad Kelly, St. Joe's graduate and nephew of Bills Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly, has signed a four-year deal with the Denver Broncos.
According to the Denver Post, Kelly is scheduled to make approximately $2.5 million over the course of his four-year deal and has a salary cap hit of $481,067 this season.
While at Ole Miss Kelly played in 22 games and threw for 6,800 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. Offseason wrist surgery, a torn ACL and multiple off the field issues likely caused Kelly to slide in the draft, but Broncos General Manager John Elway said the team is "full of confidence" about the 23-years-old future.
Kelly is set to report to Broncos rookie orientation later this week. Kelly was the last player selected in April's draft, giving him the distinction 'Mr. Irrelavent.'
