PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WKBW) — It didn't take long for recently retired defensive tackle Kyle Williams to make his way back to St. John Fisher College for Buffalo Bills training camp."

"I love football, I love the Buffalo Bills, so to be invited back and come back and share what I know and try to help our guys out, it is a blessing and I am happy to be here," Williams said after practice on Tuesday.

The six-time Pro Bowler traded in his cleats and pads for a roster card and sharpie, helping coach the defensive line, a spot where he caused plenty of havoc during his 13-year career.

“I want to try to hand these guys the keys to being better and maximizing what they have. Teaching them about what I did, what I think will help them and literally just help any way I can.”

Two players, in particular, spent plenty of time alongside Williams at practice -- second-year defensive tackle Harrison Phillips and 2019 first-round pick Ed Oliver.

"He spent over a year of his life in that dorm room," Phillips said. "He had a smile on his face, he loved what he was doing, he was just absolutely passionate and joyous and to see that in a guy who [played] for 13 years, broke every ligament in his body, that made me have just such an optimistic view of what my future can be.”

Oliver, who is on the fast track to becoming the focal point of the Bills defensive line said having Williams mentorship is like having a cheat code.

"I won’t tell you all what we talked about but he definitely helped," Oliver said with a smile. "It’s just awesome to see how far he came, where he came from to where he is now, it’s just awesome."
