ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has been named 2020's NFL assistant coach of the year by the Associated Press.

In Daboll's third year with the Bills, and his third year with Josh Allen, Buffalo's passing attack became one of the best in the NFL. Allen threw for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns, both of which were franchise records in a single season.

His creativity and play calling prowess were on display all season as Buffalo's points per game total jumped from 19.6 in 2019 to 30.3 in 2020. The latter total was good for second in the league.

Despite several interviews, Daboll did not leave Orchard Park for a head coaching job elsewhere for 2021.
