Officer's name released in Fredonia officer-involved shooting

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Fredonia Police released the name of the officer involved in a fatal shooting Monday. Patrolman Nathan Scriven was the officer who shot and killed the man in the Village of Fredonia.

Scriven is a 15-year veteran of the force. He was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting, which was handed over to the New York State Attorney General's Office and the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office. The State AG's Office made the determination after viewing the footage, that they did not need to be involved in the investigation.

The name of the man who was killed is not being released at the request of the District Attorney.
