BUFFALO (WKBW) — The poke bowl craze is coming to downtown Buffalo. Fresh Catch Poke Co. is eyeing a September opening inside the new building at 500 Pearl Street. "We are very excited", owner Mike Tobin told 7 Eyewitness News.

The new Fresh Catch Poke Co., like the restaurant's original location in Williamsville, will offer sustainably caught seafood and locally sourced produce. "Our poke bowl options include everything from fresh ahi tuna, to chicken and shrimp", said Tobin. The entire menu can be made gluten-free. There will also be vegan options. "This will be the perfect place for people looking for a lighter meal".

Fresh Catch Poke Co, has been certified by the Independent Health foundation for "healthy options". Tobin adds that the entire menu has been approved meaning that Independent Health members will be able to use their flex spending cards to dine at the restaurant.

There will also be cocktails. Unlike the Williamsville location the new downtown restaurant will boast a full bar with a focus on creating light and refreshing cocktails to accompany your meal.

The new Fresh Catch Poke Co. expects to seat around 50 people. The hope is that the new restaurant is ready to open by the first week of September.
