Be prepared for slippery roads as snow increases

Parts of Western New York are still under a winter weather advisory, and it could impact your commute.

Roads were not an issue Wednesday morning for 7 Eyewitness News photographer Jeff Wick and Multi-Media Journalist Matt Bove, but as temperatures drop that could change.

Over the next few hours temperatures are expected to drop below the freezing mark.

If that occurs, some roads may get slick.

"You need to be prepared," New York State Police Captain Edward Kennedy said. "Prepare for the worst case emergency situation, and you're going to get through it okay."

Police also encourage drivers to make sure they give themselves a little extra time, to ensure not only their own safety, but the safety of others.
