Buffalo police are getting things ready in downtown Buffalo for the arrival of republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The republican front runner will hold a rally at the First Niagara Center Monday night at 7pm.

Buffalo Police tell 7 Eyewitness News numerous streets will be blocked off and other security measures will be in place, but said things could change between now and Monday.

"There are going to be numerous street closures starting around noon on Monday in and around the arena," said Lt. Jeff Rinaldo with the Buffalo Police Department. "The public should not expect normal Sabres style game day parking for this event."

The First Niagara Center ramp will be closed for the event. Washington street will be closed south of the HarborCenter parking ramp but spaces will be available there. Main street will also be closed past the Marriott entrance.

"Perry street will be closed to approximately Illinois at this point. South Park from Illinois to the back of the arena," said Rinaldo.

The First Niagara Center can hold about 19,000 people. Police expect the arena to fill to capacity and said parking away from downtown isn't a bad idea.

"We've worked things out with the NFTA. They will have rail lines running as they normally do for Sabres games," said Rinaldo.

Police said park in a well lit spot and hide your valuables. They recommend getting to the arena as early as possible because getting past the secret service could take longer than a normal line on game days.

"People will not be allowed to bring in any type of bags, backpacks, signs, banners, foods, beverages, or obviously weapons," said Rinaldo.

Carl Paladino co-chairs Trump's New York Campaign. He said they hope to sweep New York. "Obviously there's going to be a couple of weaknesses here and there. We've been trying to fill the gab. We've filled the gap in a couple cases with personal visits." Buffalo marks the last stop ahead of Tuesday's primary. Paladino said Trump wants a strong finish.
