New affordable housing is breaking ground for low-income families and veterans in need thanks to HELP USA and city officials.
HELP Buffalo II, a brand new $13 million dollar development project, will feature 47 new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The building will be housed partially in a renovated historic building with adjacent new construction as an ad-on.
The new space will provide on-site counseling and case management. In addition, there will be a garden, playground, indoor community room, parking and management offices.
HELP II is being funded by a series of different grants and contributions from the city and sits directly across from HELP I, an apartment building built in 1999 currently housing 25 veterans and single individuals in need.
HELP USA is one of the nation's largest homeless service providers and low-income housing developers serving at-risk populations including families, veterans and victims of domestic violence. They currently serve more than 8,000 people every day over 50 programs and residences across four states.
