Police have identified the man posing as a Marine and scamming Olean residents for money.
Police say Douglas Reed goes door-to-door pretending to be an ex-Marine who needs money to tow his broken down car.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Police Investigations at 36-5673.
Police also say anyone who gave money to Reeds should file a formal report at 376-5677.
