Jamestown Police are giving an update on the K-9 officer injured in a stabbing last week.

Police say K-9 officer Mitchell is at home recovering and resting comfortably.  Police say Mitchell was stabbed when he was sent into a house while police searched for murder suspect Keith Robbins.  The dog was taken into emergency surgery immediately after and is expected to be ok.

A number of people have been calling police and asking how they could donate to K-9 Mitchell's medical and care costs.  Police say if you'd like to make a monetary donation you can make a check out to the Jamestown Police Department K-9.  That check can be mailed to or dropped off at the station at 201 E. 2nd St Jamestown, NY 14701.

When Mitchell was stabbed police were searching for Keith Robbins.  He was a suspect in the murder of his wife.  He's now also charged with Assaulting A Police Officer.
