EASY AMHERST, NY (WKBW-TV) — It's part pop-up shop and part open-air artist studio where you will sometimes see the artists in residence. Claudio Aviles can be seen here in East Amherst on Millersport Highway, turning large logs into works of art with his chain saw. Claudio says "I love art."

He gets a lot of requests for critters but will try to make almost anything from animal sculptures to chairs and benches. He's only been carving in wood since January, but he learned his way around a chainsaw in another medium saying "I started as a chef making ice carvings."

Right next door is another wood artist, Cousin Kelly. He says he has forty pieces of public art all over Western New York including at "central terminal where I did the locomotive out of a tree."

The wood artists are located on the property of the Song Valley Organic Farm that will open for business in 2020. Meanwhile Claudio and Cousin will continue carving here and let the chips fall where they may.
