The Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir is are gearing up for a big trip to England in July and to help pay for it they will sing a ten hour Hymn-A-Thon beginning at 8a.m. on Saturday.
The way it works is that the choir will sing all 605 hymns in their standard church hymnal. That's a lot of singing even for these pros and according to choir member Veronica Shanchuk "It's not as intense as a runner's marathon, but something that definitely uses your whole body and your whole mind as a musician."
Choirmaster Garrett Martin says he's a little worried that he might wear out his singers but adds "I think they are up to the task."
The public is welcome to stop by, sing along and donate. You can find more information at the churches website.
