BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — It's "crunch time" for photographer Aitina Fareed-Cooke as she get's ready for her first big solo show at CEPA Gallery at Market Arcade on main street in Buffalo. The show opens Friday and runs through February 23rd.
Aitina's exhibition incorporates photography, poetry and video clips and is a tribute to people who have survived their struggles. The show is called "Through the lens: Warriors Exhibition". Last year Aitina won first place in a CEPA show and her prize was her own solo presentation. She says "This is what I won, a space where I can express myself through my passion, telling stories through the lens."
The photographer is hoping that spectators will gain inspiration from her work. Aitina says "we all go through challenges, it's all about how you go through them, how you get to the other side and then how do you tell your story."
