MEDINA, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) — Her Medina home bursts forth with color. Sheryl Watts is usually surrounded by her clever creations and works in progress. Her business is 'Air Raising Events'.
Sheryl is a member of the Niagara Clown Alley and has been a balloon twister for more than twenty years. That's a person who can make balloon animals. She recently became a CBA-that's a Certified Balloon Artist. It took her two years to complete the series of tests and to create a portfolio.
Sheryl says that if you have an imagination you can make anything out of balloons. She is most proud of the life sized elephant she created.
Her work is in demand for weddings, birthday parties and other fun events. She says the part she most enjoys "It's mostly the happiness. For them, to bring their event to life, that's important to me. I want them to come into a room full of balloons and just be in awe."
