Local glass artist is known world wide

CLARENCE, NY (WKBW-TV) — Victor Trabucco got the idea for creating glass art when he and his wife saw a glass artist at the mall. He says "Rather than buy the piece I said I could probably make it." That was the beginning of Trabucco Studio, a world renown maker of glass masterpieces.

The former iron worker and now glass artist is self taught and says that his early years involved a lot of trial and error. He teaches once a year at Corning Glass Museum and is technical adviser to Steuben Glass.

Over the years he has created a number of new techniques for working in the medium. Victor's artistry has been showcased in museums and in books. His sons Jon and David have followed in his footsteps,

Many of his works have ended up in the hands of celebrities including presidents and sports figures. Victor says "It's through word of mouth, I do a lot of special commissions."
