BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — As a child John Kennedy Kane loved the circus so much he got nicknamed 'Circ'. His dream was to become the Ringmaster. The South Buffalo native finally joined the circus as a fire eater. He says "the act was so bad it was funny-they said you should be in the bigger tent".

Circ's entertaining career exploits unfold in his solo show called "My Life In The Basement" which opens at the Alleyway Cabaret Theatre Friday November 8th. "After the show people say how did you make this stuff up-you can't make this stuff up, it's all true." John says.

It doesn't spoil the plot to reveal that the performer did have his dream come true when he was hired to be the Ringmaster for the prestigious Big Apple Circus. John says "The Big Apple Circus is the finest circus in America, never in my life did I think I was going to be in that show."

You may also recognize him as Kandy Kane, "the world's largest elf" at the Fairgrounds Festival of Lights each year. This will be his 10th season performing there.

The one-man comedy "My Life In The Basement" runs this weekend and next. You can get more information and tickets at the Alleyway website
