BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — Penny Sergi and Matthew Wilson just received Kenny Awards at Shea's Performing Arts Center for their performances in their High School musicals. Penny starred in Legally Blonde at West Seneca West and Matthew was the lead in Les Miserables at the Buffalo Academy Of Performing Arts.

The talented teens have been selected to participate in the Jimmy Awards in New York City. They and other students from around the country will experience coaching and rehearsing with industry professionals. The week long experience culminates with a one-night-only Broadway showcase of their talent.

Penny says she "will meet Broadway actors and actresses and directors and casting agents and that's going to be so unique, but that's going to be scary." Matthew says he is "looking forward to seeing all the talent and making new friends."

Penny will attend the University of Rochester for English and play-writing and Matthew will enter SUNY Buffalo State for Musical Engineering. Both are planning to keep musical performing in their lives. Matthew says "I just love it so much" and Penny echoes those words adding "I'm definitely going to keep musical theatre part of my life because I don't think I can let it go."
