BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) — Dawne Hoeg created Stitch Buffalo five year ago. It's a special, non-profit workshop where refugee women can make and sell their hand-made creations. Dawne provides the ladies with materials as well as instruction.

There are a number of languages spoken here which can make it tricky. Dawne says "it's a lot of hand gestures, charades. We have the common denominator of creating something beautiful."

The gift shop is filled with a colorful collection of the women's creations. There will be a "pop-up" sale here on February 2nd. The sale will include fabric, notions and sewing machines.

You can find Stitch Buffalo at 1215 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY and there is more information at their web site
