Lasting just three hours, it has to be the shortest art festival around. But it is also one of the most unique. This Art Festival at Veterans Hospital showcases the work of local veterans.

According to Air Force veteran and artist Charles Brown who took the "Best In Show" award "this is a special group of people and I'm proud to be a part of it."

Charles entries include a mixed-media, a watercolor and an acrylic tiger that looks like it could pounce out of the frame. Charles says "people love the eyes-I always tell people when it's over my television it wins the staring contest."

Local competitions like this are held at veterans medical facilities all over the country. The artists not only turn out some amazing work, but many of them find the process therapeutic for whatever issues they are recovering from.

Charles Brown will head to the national competition in Des Moines, Iowa in the fall.
