There are usually some sweet sounds coming from Bello Studios in Orchard Park. It's the sound of students being coached by Debbie Monroe. Debbie has been coaching talented singers for twenty-five years and has been taking students to American Idol Auditions since the show started.
Debbie has had three or four of her singers make it on the American Idol show. She's been to auditions so many times, she knows some of the producers.
While it's important for the singers to have "looks and talent", Debbie teaches them that when it comes to auditioning "less is more" adding "because the less you sing the more they want to hear so if they hear it and they like what they hear, they may ask you for a second song."
Another tip Debbie shares is always be prepared with a second song. And most importantly you have to start on the right note, otherwise in Debbie's words "if you start on the wrong note, it's done."
Local talents Erica Hill and Caitlin Koch have both been coached by Debbie Monroe and now teach at Bello Studios. You can get more information at theBello Studios website.
