Person of interest sought in stabbing at Boulevard Mall

Amherst Police are looking to locate Maiya Marks, 18, of Buffalo. She is considered a person of interest regarding the assualt of a Macy's security guard on Monday night.

Police say the security guard was injured while trying to apprehend a shoplifter last night at the Boulevard Mall Macy's.

Police say the woman was trying to steal from the store when the security guard confronted her.  That's when she stabbed him in the leg.  Police have not released information on what type of weapon she used, but described his injury as a "puncture wound."

The officer was taken to the hospital but is expected to be ok.

Police say they know who the suspect is, but tell us she is not currently in custody.
