She's turning 100 and still volunteers

Three days a month, you will find Margaret Brown at the Kenmore Mercy Hospital gift shop where she has been volunteering for nine years.

Before that she was a volunteer at Millard Hospital for 40 years. She started volunteering after retiring from a 40 year career with the Social Security Administration.

Brown uses a cane to get around but she mainly just drags it behind her. Next month she'll turn 100-years-old. Don't ask her for sage advice about how to reach old age. She says that she is as surprised as anyone that she is going to be 100.

She has three grand children, seven grandchildren and she says that one of the happiest moments of her life is when her only son Michael was born. Michael is 69-years-old and says that he hopes he has his mother's genes.
