The Village of Kenmore's Police Department has a warning for residents. Police say the fire department's phone number has been spoofed, and they're telling people to ignore any calls coming from it.
The number is (716) 875-3274. The fire department say it doesn't use the number for any emergency or official business contact.
Spoofing is when a caller uses a known number to disguise their identity. Those callers often try to trick people into giving away personal information.
