Rural/Metro is increasing its workforce in Western New York to help improve response times in emergency situations.
The ambulatory company announced Monday that it will add $1.6 million in new jobs in the City of Buffalo by the end of June and is looking for qualified applicants.
Rural/Metro offers a free EMT course for city residents and jobs will be offered to every student who successfully passes the state exam. The next class will begin in June.
In addition, Rural/Metro is partnering with Buffalo Fire to hire firefighters who are certified as EMTs. These part-time positions will be with AMR-Rural/Metro and will include a specific training process.
