With the NHL draft looming, the Sabres are closing in on a head coach to replace Dan Blymsa, according to multiple reports.

Elliotte Freidman from Sportsnet reports that all signs indicate Phil Housley, who spent last season as an assistant with the Nashville Predators will be the Sabres next coach. Darren Dreger, with TSN, adds a decision is expected before Monday.

Dreger also says that the Sabres didn't contact Pittsburgh assistant Rick Tocchet, who has been highly rumored as a candidate.

The NHL Draft begins on June 23rd. New Sabres GM Jason Botterill has said previously that he hopes to name a coach before the start of the draft.
