Possible domed complex for Summit Park Mall

Developers are planning to put a domed sports complex on the site of the former Summit Park Mall in Wheatfield.

They unveiled their proposal Wednesday night. The complex would have a number of soccer fields and basketball courts.

Members of Niagara International Sports and Entertainment say it would bring dozens of new jobs to the area, and Wheatfield leaders are hoping it'll bring business as well.

"If we're drawing soccer clubs in or baseball teams in from Cleveland, from Erie Pennsylvania, from Syracuse and Rochester, that's going to be helpful to all of this area," explained Wheatfield Town Supervisor Robert Cliffe.

Before any plan moves forward a public meeting will take place. One is set for March 2nd.
