He's already the University of Rochester quarterback, and now Lockport native Dan Bronson can add crime stopper to his resume.
Bronson was leaving a Lockport restaurant earlier this month when he says he saw a man snatch a purse from an elderly woman. Bronson made the split-second decision to chase the man down.
"After about 75 yards he dropped the purse but I kept chasing him. I didn't care about the purse at that point. I just wanted to get him. I tackled him and put him in a choke hold," Bronson said.
Bronson and two other men held the man down until police showed up. He's been identified as 31-year-old Matthew Biles. Police say he's wanted for another similar crime. State Police will be honoring Bronson and the other men who helped him hold Biles down.
