Though some people at the SPCA of Erie County, get so busy looking at the puppies, cats, reptiles, rabbits and other assorted critters, they may miss the pet gift shop.

But this year Petique, run by Patti Zander, celebrates its 20th anniversary. She got the pet gift shop off the ground and provides provides practical provisions as well as lots of fun stuff for pets and pet lovers, even some Laurel Birch designer bags.

Right now, Zander is offering discounts as Petique gets ready for a makeover. There are festive favorites from dogs and cats.

"We have rawhide holiday hedges that make a fun noise and my personal favorite is the snake," she said. "One of the favorite cat toys are silvery pompoms. Cats are so easy!"

And if your dog destroys the toy, Petique offers a 100 percent lifetime guarantee and will replace it for free.

The best part is the profits from Petique are used right at the SPCA to help homeless and injured animals. What could be better than that?
