Mini horses trot into ECMC

ECMC patients are getting special furry visitors on October 11. Mini therapy horses are trotting through the halls for patients to pet and hug all day.

Dogs, cats, and even chickens have been used as therapy animals for patients, but Centers Health Care decided to bring the barn to ECMC. The mini-horses, which are slightly larger than ponies, are fully trained, and trot up to patients, extending their necks to be pet or hugged.

Centers Health Care brought the program to ECMC after "tremendous" success bringing the mini-horses to its nursing home residences.
