A man responsible for the boating death of a 16-year-old girl was sentenced to two to four years in prison Thursday morning.

Timothy Wisniewski, 51, owned and was in the boat when Avery Gardner stood up and hit her head on a bridge on Ellicott Creek in the Town of Tonawanda in June 2015, leading to her death.

Gardner also supplied an excess of alcohol and marijuana to Gardner and her 17-year-old boyfriend, Gregory Green, who was driving the boat when Gardner hit her friend.

Green has since been sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation.

Wisniewski has been in jail since he was arrested.
