Ski operators hope to start making snow Friday

More than halfway through the month of December and Holiday Valley is looking pretty green.

Lifts sit still, ski racks stand empty and a visiting family from Florida plays in a shallow pile of snow, wishing there was enough to ski on.

However, in just 24 hours, meteorologists are predicting a cool down with crisp temps in the 30s, perfect for making snow.

Holiday Valley operators are hoping the slopes will be open by Sunday as skiers and business owners in this resort community are more than ready to get the season started.
