WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — State Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run that injured two girls and killed a dog in Sheldon.

Troopers out of Warsaw arrested 27-year-old Lauren Hall from Strykersville. She's facing a number of charges including Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Leaving the Scene of a Serious Personal Injury Auto Accident, and Criminal Mischief.

Police say Hall was driving on Dutch Hollow Road near State Route 78 in the Town of Sheldon Thursday, August 15th, when she hit two girls who were walking their dog on the grass next to the road. The 12-year-old girl had serious, non-live threatening injuries, and the 14-year-old girl had minor injuries. The dog was killed.

7 Eyewitness News spoke with the 12-year-old's mother after the crash.

Police were able to identify the type of car involved in the accident from the scene, and tips from the public helped them find and arrest Hall. She was arraigned in Town of Sheldon Court, and will appear in court in September.
