GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — It appears Fantasy Island may rise again, with a big emphasis on may.

This development comes roughly one week after news spread that the beloved Grand Island amusement park would cease to exist this summer. On Tuesday, a park spokesperson issued an updated statement, giving Fantasy Island lovers a glimmer of hope.

"The park’s operator, Apex Parks Group, has been in active discussions with potential buyers for well over a year. Announcement of the park’s closure has sparked interest from new potential buyers and the company is working with Grand Island Supervisor John Whitney, along with other local officials, to help facilitate solutions to permanently closing the park.
