NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The North Tonawanda City School District says air quality tests have come back clear after a chemical leak in the heating system pipes caused a bad odor in the school.

According to the superintendent's message, the substance causing the bad smell is called Inhibited Propylene Glycol.

The school says after testing was done by experts, the results came back "well below the levels where there would be any concern."

The leak was fixed on Thursday and the school is continuing to monitor the area for air quality into next week.
