CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — According to a warn notice SP+, a parking vendor at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, will layoff 90 employees.

The notice states "temporary layoffs that occurred between 3/28/2020 and 5/16/2020 for 90 employees have become permanent separations effective 9/24/2020."

According to the notice, the reason for the layoffs is due to unforeseeable business circumstances prompted by COVID-19.

NFTA Aviation Director Bill Vanecek said the airport has seen an 85% drop in people getting on planes. From July 2019 to July 2020, scheduled departures at the airport plummeted almost 60%.
