BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Calling all teachers: The Teacher's Desk needs more than 100 teachers to help fill back packs with school supplies in honor of the late Buffalo Bills superfan Ezra Castro, affectionately known as Pancho Billa.

The non-profit organization has been working with Castro's family since his passing in May to fill and distribute thousands of backpacks, called Panchopacks, for students across Western New York.

Just weeks after Castro's passing, The Teacher's Desk had raised more than $100,000 for Panchopacks. Volunteers filled thousands of packs in June, which will go to students across 250 schools that benefit from the Teacher's Desk locally. Other packs are being handed out to students in El Paso, Texas, Castro's hometown.

On Tuesday, The Teacher's Desk posted on Facebook that it still needs to fill 250 Panchopacks on September 28th from 9am-noon.

Interested teachers are asked to email volunteer@theteachersdesk.org.
